Search your interest and go for the program eg. participate a course that widen your social circle with "healthier" friends...do not misunderstand that drinking is unhealthy (to certain extend yes), it is a waste of time if you have already lost interest in drinking and it is unhealthy to "force" yourself just because of the group you mixed with...you are accountable to your own life...not others...lives is too short to please ppl

Did you quit drinking entirely on your own, or did you go into treatment? If you quit on your own, then you are "white knuckling it" & that may be more difficult than you think. It also sounds like you are trying to substitute your drinking habit with one that may be more socially acceptable.

If you did go through a treatment programme then you should have access to a councellor who can assist you with making healthy choices for passing your spare time.

Whether you did or didn't go through treatment, you could try AA. You may not consider yourself an alcoholic, but so what. There you can get some support for staying away from alcohol, & meet up with like-minded individuals who you can potentially plan some alcohol free activities with.

Congrats on giving up the liquor. It's a difficult habit to break, & I wish you total success in that.

Whatever you do, don't drink or take drugs! I have friends who do that but I have never drunk with them or taken drugs. You don't have to be like them. You can just be yourself. And if they don't understand it, they are not your friends!
Now, I can suggest some activities to you: read a book, go to the cinema, find company with people who like the same things you do, ride a bike, walk in the park, go shopping, go bowling, play pool, go swimming, surfing or riding. Do whatever pleases you, but stay away from alcohol and drugs! Hope you'll succeed!

hi,
have you tried taking nature walks, or biking with a bike club, I'm trying that one to help lose weight. it kind of fun three or more of you get together and decide the area that you are going to ride in and you take turns with the refreshments. this weekend is my turn and the weather permits i am going to have a in door cook out. me and the rest are going tohave a picnic at the park, i call it a indoor out door cook out because i will have already cooked the food. how about playing tag football at the park with you girl friend/wife and there husband/boyfriends and doing the samething.

go to Alcohol Anonymous and meet some friends there they probably have a group of people who go out without using drugs or drinking, plus it is more support.

Get World of Warcraft and become hopelessly addicted to online gaming. It's cheaper and more fun than drinking. Plus if you're lucky you might meet someone of the opposite sex who is just as hopelessly addicted as you.
