have you tried the gerber graduates??
they are soft and pliable.
peel the skin off the chicken sticks and piece them up. cut the pasta pick-ups in half. chunk some green beans in bite sized pieces. tear some frozen pancakes into bite sized peices 9microwaved, of course).
sounds like he's trying to tell you that he doesn't want baby food anymore!
take care.

Has he lost any weight?
The Doctor is paid by YOU. Don't hesitate to speak up, politely but firmly demand that the doctor address it now. You are your child's advocate.
Also, don't hesitate to see another doctor. As mom, your gut feeling is more important than the doctor's time schedule. If you feel he isn't paying attention, get someone who will.
If he's vomiting up food he didn't vomit up before... I would say it's something to be addressed as soon as possible. Food allergies, acid reflux (especially in premies) are possiblities. If he was recently on anti-biotics, that might be a contributing factor as well. (Look into Pro-Biotics at Trader Joe's or another Health Food Store, talk to a doctor, of course, before giving them... but pro-biotics replace the 'good bacteria' in your stomach that helps you digest food.)

According to Dr. Sears, your child may eat well one day and nothing the next, this is normal. Consider food intake over the course of one week. Parents are often surprised to find that their child's food intake balances out.
If your baby refuses to eat or drink anything for an entire day, call your pediatrician.

My daughter started refusing baby food (from a jar) at 8months. I would blend up whatever I was eating. I found it was all about the texture. If it was too thin or too thick she would vomit. I went and talked to the Health Nurse because I found they had some really good tricks. But do bring it up with your Dr. at his 1 year

Use a blender and use just the table food for him. Get him bigger snacks or more suitable ones, like cheerios, Nilla Wafers, biter biscuits for babies. Also one my 9 month old daughter loves is Graduate Finger Foods. My hubby gave our daughter a cheeto, and the choking & puking happened also. So, I have under no circumstances allowed him to give her anything outside of the regular snacks. lol

First of all, I think I'd be considering a new doctor.
I'm not a doctor, but I'd be wondering if your son has some kind of problem with his esophagus. My husband has some kind of esophageal disorder along with reflux that he has had since he was a baby, and what you're describing sounds a lot like what he went through. He had trouble keeping a lot of foods down, and I guess they had to stretch his esophagus.
Good luck.

He is at a stage where he should start eating table foods. Contact your pediatrician and talk about your experience. Sometimes it can be a health issue, doesnt have to be though.
Good Luck!

Sounds like you need to take him to the doctor. Sounds like something is wrong with his throat.
P.S. Since his doctor is refusing to see him, take him to the ER and tell them what's going on and that his doctor refuses to him, I guarantee, they'll see him after that.
