We just got two females two days ago - they act very nervous and I was just wondering how long it will take before they get used to us -

I woul say its the location of the cage that's making them nervous not you - don't put them in a high traffic area

It doesn't take long at all for them to get use to the new home and owners. All you have to do is, when around the cage talk to them and pet them. That will help them get use to your voice and smell, that will cut done on the nervous behavior a lot. Also take them out and hold them for about and hour each day. They need to get use to you handling them. Do that and they should stop being so nervous in about two weeks or less depending on how much time you give them. They are lovable animals and very social so the more of your time you give them the happy and healthier they are, also it will help in getting them calmed down and use to the new home.
