Or just count the play of the songs from the computer?

I ask this because when I connect my I-Pod the play count of the songs doesn't add directly to the library, how can I do it?

Mine does, and I never set it to add the count. I'm not sure there's even a way to disable that function. To test it, check iTunes for a specific song and check the number of times it has been played and the last time it was played. Play the song all the way through on the iPod (don't just hit the Next button or it won't count as having been played). Now sync your iPod and see if the play count and date have been adjusted accordingly. If not, perhaps your iPod isn't actually syncing when you connect it. While you've got it connected, look in the iPod window and see if you've got the box checked for "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected" and make sure you don't have the box checked for "Only sync checked items" (it's possible with the latter that unchecked songs don't have their info updated to iTunes).
