I am a muslim & the answer to your question is:
You have been married before so for sure you know what went wrong to make your marriage fail, do you think that you will have a better marriage with him? do you feel that both of you will be able to work things out? will he be a good step father to your children?
As for his family believe me it is not you as a person that they do not like, it is just a cultural thing, I guess that your b.f has never been married before so naturaly they would like him to marry someone who was not either, no offense but specially when that someone their son will marry has extra baggage (your kids).
I am not trying to be rude or anything but i am just trying to give you maybe their point of view. because in Arab culture most of them think this way whether you are a muslim or not will not make a big difference. (i know because i married a divorced man with a son & we are both muslims, and it didn't go down well with some of my family memebers in the begining)
and i know for a fact that if you go ahead & marry him, his family will try their best to get to know you better because family ties are very important both in Islam & the arab world.
I hope this answers some of your fears, & good luck.

Right now its kinda Ok cause your just Bf and Gf but if it gets marriage serious his family will hate you. Your life with him will be miserable because his family will despise you, forever. The dad and brothers think your an your an infidel *lut. They will talk and talk to him about how bad you are and that he should leave you. That will put unwanted stress on your marriage. You will be forced to convert as will your child. Your daughter will have the chance of being raised in a society that doesn`t respect women the way we do. Your daughter will never be good enough. The mother in law will never accept you totally. She will try to be nice probably. Your American ways of speaking back will be a constant source of friction.
Hundreds of American women have married non religious Muslim males only to find their husband gets religion and starts demanding the strictest religious practices. His peers constantly complain to him about his not controlling his wife better. The religion provides that controlling aspect.
Worse yet in his religious zeal they want to return to their home land dragging Wife and Daughter with him. There are hundreds of horror stories of American women and their children trapped and unable to escape in Muslim countries. American mothers and Fathers trying to find out anything about what happened to their daughters in Palestine, Yemen, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.
That could be you and your child's future.
Glad you asked

I don't think that's a good idea because my parents got divorced and my dad Muslim went and married his own kind ,they are not to be trusted ,and if you get married and have a child i know from experience you wont see that child again. i was in another country for a couple of years and couldn't come back until i was older and this sort of thing happens alot . foreigners marrying to stay in the country and then bind-ed by a child then when they are unbind ed they hurt you.be careful with your decision so you don't regret before its too late and you cant do anything.
p.s. sometimes love can be blind and you cant see the truth dont belive me do your research go to the embassy.

each faith i'm advantageous it states that you'll be able to't kiss or have sex previously marriage. although, you and him both want to ask Allah to forgive you. Allah is the most merciful human being. you want to ask him to forgive both one of you. because you at the prompt are not married, you want to end relationship him, touching him, and so on. a guy and woman won't be able to contact each and each others till they're married. a guy can purely contact his mom, sister, daughter, and spouse. as well as grandparents. you want to inform him that, at the same time as both one of you're prepared he ought to evaluate speaking with your relatives about this marriage. with out both households settlement, the marriage isn't time-honored in Islam. Any question. communicate with an Imam.

If he is a good person with good values he a not really a muslim. He is a person who thinks he is a muslim. Just explain to him that Islam is a hateful religion that nobody should be a part of and that he is being victimized by it.
refer him to www.faithfreedom.org
Its not that difficult to find the true nature of Islam:
Death for apostasy:
Sura 4:89 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,”
Kill Disbelievers in a cruel fashion:
Sura 5:33: "Those who make war with Allah and his messenger will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. That is how they will be treated in this world, and in the next they will have an awful doom."
Slit throats of unbelievers:
Quran Sura 47:4: Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.
Amputation for petty theft:
Quran Sura 5:38: Cut off the hands of thieves, whether they are male or female, as punishment for what they have done—a deterrent from God: God is almighty and wise.
Killing unbelievers:
9:123. O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.
Dont be friends with Jews or Christians:
Sura 5:51: O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your allies and protectors: They are but allies and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.
Sex slaves are permitted:
4:24 Also (prohibited are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess.
Kill disbelievers:
2:191. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
Permission for a muslim man to beat his wife if she doesnt obey him:
Sura 4:34: Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in their sleeping places and **beat them**; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.
Fight disbelievers:
Sura 9:29: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
