Chuckles, I am all for the rights of the child and I am no saint.
Yesterday, however, I was sent an e-mail by a co-worker and it concerned a school teacher, married, and with children, who was kidnapped, brutally raped - repeatedly - and kept for several weeks - unable to have a bath, see her family, hear a friendly voice, treated like last year's garbage, and beaten until she wanted to die. She said she felt numb at some point throughout her ordeal and gave up wanting to live. She even stopped feeling the physical pain.
Can you imagine what a hell of an ordeal that was for her? She only decided not to kill herself - if they didn't - when she heard her husband's voice on one of the kidnappers' cell phone, telling her he was going to pay the ransom, encouraging her to hold on. He begged them not to hurt her but she was way past hurting by then.
This lady said, in anguish and tears, that they thought they kidnapped her, but what they actually did was kidnap her soul and she cannot get it back. She is a mere shell of the soft-spoken person she once was.
She did have an HIV test but her interviewer did not press her for the results and she did not divulge them. I pray she did not catch AIDS.
My point is this, she became pregnant by some one of those demonic criminals and subsequently had an abortion.
I, the Christian that I am, do not pass judgement on her!
Do you?
Can you?

I believe in the ethical treatment of anything with a mind. If it does not have a mind yet, or no longer has a mind, then it is protoplasm, and cares not a whit, no matter what the genetics.
Identical twins happen all the time, they were at one time a single cell and a single zygote and single set of chromosomes, but grow into similar but completely different people. That does not happen at any instant, but a mind moves in very late, and doesn't finish doing so till well after birth.
It is fascinating to watch Wingers dance around Abortion issues. The only reason they were illegal in the past was because is was more dangerous to the woman than birth, this is no longer true.
Now the wingers couldn't care less about the woman or even the child, or else they would support healthy baby initiatives, and early child care, much less when people grow older.
They act like their religious position on embryos as babies is old, but a look at any cemetery will show very few children even though we know most children died before their fifth year, and not a single grave for a miscarriage, that was just a fancy name for natural abortion. Therefore their only real goal is to abuse women.
on edit -While everyone was spending millions in a dither over Terri Schievo, another case, where there was a child, 8 yrs old or so, with a wrecked body but a perfectly functioning mind, was starved to death in a Texas hospital, due to a law pushed by then Gov. Bush, that gave hospitals the right to kill actual people to save money! He was not the first or last to die because of that law.
And you complain about people having abortions to save their life or sanity?????

I believe in the ethical of treatment of animals as well, up to and including the termination of animal pregnancies to stop unwanted litters. It works the same with humans. There are a lot of unwanted pregancies and many pro-lifers are just out there for polictical reasons and have never been in a position where they found themselves poor and pregnant with no one to turn to. I find this esp appauling with men who, in my opinion, have no opinion. They aren't the ones whose body and emotions will undergo enormous changes, have there work life turned upside down and even lose wages. While I don't condone abortion as a means of birth control, there are situations where it is neccessary. It is not a black and white issue.

Amen, my friend. They have really messed- up minds, and alot of them don't fully understand the value of innocent, human life.
They won't accept your question as valid because don't you know theythey think they're the smartest people in the room? To answer a qusetion from you or me would require them to think about their corrupt core beliefs-- you think they would actually do that?

Yes they should, and yes your question is valid. BUT, in a realistic world not everything works as it should work. The difference would be to me that when cats start preforming abortions on other cats, then it will be the same. Humans are doing the "crime" to their own species with abortions. But then again there are some liberals that are just so dang liberal they don't have any sense at all. JMO.

Thanks for the laugh! I needed it. As I answered in another question, it's so ironic is how we can slaughter babies yet she incorporated a no smoking ban. This is what the world is coming to my friend!

Good question Chuckles. Remember, its not actually about human or animal life, its about politics and the atheist/secular/socialist agenda.
