why are there so many Unfaithful spouses? This is really bugging me. why can't the two parties sit down and TRY to work it out with each other? How can the cheater find it easier to tell their problems to the "the person" and not their spouses. I just don't understand.

Because people are so into themselves they lose sight of the big picture.

People have needs. They always have. However they often go for the "quick fix" rather then the drudgery of slogging it out with their spouse.

Easy? Thrilling? Fun? Sure. But destructive, evil and soul-eroding at the same time.

Kind of like eating a carton of ice cream. You know you shouldn't, but it feels so good. But later, one way or another, you'll pay for it.

Because in many cases the spouse is part of the problem.

Besides, infidelity is not always caused by marital problems. Many men cheat because they had an opportunity, not an issue with their spouse.

However if the infidelity is caused by marital problems, it's always easier to cheat than try to hammer away at a problem.

You just asked the same thing I did about six years ago and I still don't have a satisfactory answer yet. I never did figure out how a person (spouse) could just let it all go to another person and neglect to tell their significant other. Makes no sence to me. I hope you find your answer. If you do let me know also.

Because society has accepted things the way they are. Adultry is nothing anymore. If your cheating on your spouse, people say "oh well, life goes on" Or it gives people something to talk about. Our society is filled with selfishness, greed, glutiny and wrath. Everyone wants what everyone else has.
People want to have money and it takes getting someone with money, they will go any length to do it even if it takes cheating on their spouse to do it.

Because if communication is already the problem how do you expect her/him to communicate on something extremly damaging to relationships. Seek counseling and #1 Communicate.

It easier because you can tell oneside of the story. You never tell the full truth. You always make the other person look like the problem, it's never you. "The other person" doesn't care there just really becoming more and more of the problem.

I totally agree with you on this one Harmony.... I sure can see why this really bugs you ... It bothers me as well... We should site down and try to work it out with each other... The sad part is people are selfish and lazy and dont want to work anything out anymore and they are just not commited.

its one of the many questions that reasonable rational and honest people just can't answer! ive never understood extra-marital affairs..people take vows to commit themselves to one person for the rest of their lives and then dishonor them. i guess some people just feel that they aren't getting attention at home and that someone else will give it to them, the funny thing is that with every relationship at the beginning everything is perfect..a lot of people don't remember that and end up losing everything for a relationship that doesn't even end up working out. im sorry if your going through this right now..just remember if anyone treats you this way, they don't deserve your love. good luck.

I experienced it first hand and I still try to figure it out. To him or her, ur boredom, the every routine, the already known. They crave the exitement of the new, the chase, the seduction. Talking to someone else represent a new and fresh point of view and they don't fear to be judged. Until they need to find someone newer.
