I think it will be great as long as they have a handle on security. It will also bring more attention to the African countries that are improving in soccer like Cameroon and Ghuana. This home truf may spark some of those countries to make things interesting.

It's touch-and-go at the moment ....
Haven't been home in 10 months or so, and the last time I heard, there were issues regarding the amount of stadiums available .... seems to still be the case!
Everyone also seems to be focusing on the matter of security ... and it is a major priority(what with us continuously being dragged through the mud in the media) ---> but doesn't EVERY country have its own crap to deal with from time to time ?????
Anyways, as a South African, I am *PROUD* that we're hosting, obviously for financial and tourism reasons !!!!
I love that we're being undermined, and all the negative speculation being thrown at us around every corner ....
Ah, but when we prove them wrong .... it would be OH SO BLOODY, FANTASTICALLY SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well they are already having problems with getting money to improve the stadiums, and just the other day at a league match signs blew onto the field and almost killed all the players. The country needs the WC for money, but i think it would be safer bein held somewhere else, and they definatly cannot top Germany, they did a spectactular job!

what about it???? They hosted the 95 rugby world cup better than anyone else has to date. Why not the soccer world cup.

I think it is great that South Africa is hosting. This is going to be great for their economy.
