I have a cut on my calf. It's dark pink/red about an inch in either direction all the way around it, and goes to light pink, then yellow. This has spread to about three inches out from the cut. Very puffy and hard. I can't walk very well, and my entire leg is sore all the way around.
I've been using peroxcide and putting a dressing on it, but it's gone from just a little red as of yesterday morning to this oozing, discolored mess today.

Sounds like taking care of it yourself isn't enough anymore. You may be getting more infected than peroxide can handle (by the way that isn't the best treatment for preventing infections, next time try antibiotic ointment). Either way, time to go to a doctor.
I suggest your regular doctor or if possible one of those urgent care places. What ever is cheaper. If you have insurance, your doctor probably will be. If not, you may need to call a couple places (I believe in picking the cheapest method of medical care that is effective). NO need to go to the emergency room but I wouldn't wait much longer.
Sometimes infections can get very serious. The infection can get in your blood stream and spread to other parts of the body. This can make you very sick.
Now I am not sure of the seriousness of your infection but based on your description, it is getting worse. So just stop by a medical provider. It is possible that the infection is gettting to the point that your need oral antibiotics. Don't let it get worse. It is not worth the long term consequences.
Just have a doctor or nurse practitioner look at it.They will know immediately.
Good luck

it sounds like a pretty bad infection. you may need to get some antibiotics. keep it clean and let the soar dry out some, don't keep it bandaged up to where no scabbing will form. let it dry out. keep antibiotic cream on it and keep it clean. open wounds you shouldnt use peroxide on if they are really big. use rubbing alcohol or let it dry and keep the creams on it. bandage only if your going somewhere and it will be at rish for getting dirty. watch the swelling, it a red line appears and starts to go up your leg, seek attention immediatly. this is a sign of blood poisoning, and can kill you if not treated.

keep cleaning it, apply bacitracin or neosporin and cover with a dressing. Change the dressing, re-applying the ointment, every day until it heals. A covered wound heals much faster, and with less scarring if it is kept covered. If you haven't had a Tetanus shot in the last ten years, you should get one.

I think you need to go the hospital as soon as possible. An infection in your leg can get really serious, and theres no point in letting it get worse. They may need to drain your leg, and prescribe you some antibiotics.

It sounds like you may have cellulitis or staph infection and will need medical attention asap. I had to have mine surgically cut out and it took WEEKS to heal (the scar is still hard and healing - will take over a year).

I hope you are making this up. If you are not, you need to be in the hospital now with IV antibiotics, bed rest and hot compresses. This is a serious infection.

Sounds like it to me that you need to cut your leg off. Amputation is the only way to go.
