That's what the defense implied, or stated outright.
Remember, there is no charge of "outing" anyone here - NO ONE was charged with that. THERE WAS NO ILLEGAL CIA LEAK.
It is lying to investigators, which is serious enough.
Libby will also call reporters to testify, and they may want to refuse.
This may make it extremely difficult to get a conviction.
Bottom line - NEVER lie to investigators!!!

Take the fall for what? The only charge is that he lied to the grand jury about a discussion he had with a reporter.
He isn't being charged with outing the NON-covert Plame, because that was done by Richard Armitage, and nobody has been charged with this because it wasn't a crime. You see, she'd been inadvertently outed by the Clinton administration, so her covert status had been blown.
So there's nothing to "take the fall" for.
Why are facts so hard for you to comprehend? What kind of delusional world do you live in?

In court today the defense has no intention of taking the fall to protect anyone! Seems the vice president is in this up to his eyeballs. If you remember the last time the vice president was questioned he would not go under oath and no kind of paper trail.
Now we can see why
