I can't understand this. Also I remember thinking how bad 70s fashions were in the 80s.

I fully agree with you, I was in high school in the 80's and never a cooler person existed, or so I thought at the time, but looking back, all I can say is "what was I thinking?" I think every generation thinks they are cool and well dressed at the time, but looking back I doubt any of them believe that now. Fashion trends come and go every few years thank God, could you imagine having to walk around looking like you did in high school? No Thank You. but still,,,, the 80's rocked!!!!!!

I went to high school in the 80's, and I thought we looked ridiculous back then. Loved the 70's though, great time to be a kid, lots of bright colours, clothes looked like costumes for some psychedelic movie.
Oh God, I had forgotten (blocked out?) the Hammer pants....gag

In 20 years we'll be looking back at the fashion of 2000 and think "what the hell?"

Because at the time it was a new look and we were too stupid to know how bad it looked...I mean, why would anyone want to wear the MC Hammer pants when they're not MC Hammer? Why wear parachute pants when not skydiving? And who was the 1st one to put on a long sweater and think, "You know what would look good with this? Leggings and heels!!!!" I mean, we were STUPID thinking this crap looked good on anyone. Yeah, those were the good old days........

Oh God, yes, you are so right. Remember those huge shoulder pads? I was a Sheena Easton fan and did my best to look just like her. Only difference... she was stick thin, I was a robust size 18. Aaaarghhh!!!
