I don't. I went to a cafe earlier, waited over half an hour for a quick snack...turns out the waitress just completely forgot I existed.

:(

If you wear a chicken outfit and make the appropriate chicken noises, you will get served first anywhere!

I swear, sometimes it's almost like I'm invisible. I went to a concert once with a thermos and camera. Others were being stopped for having a bottle of water but I just walked on by. Other times I can stand at a counter and NEVER be asked if I want anything. I don't get it.

I do, but only because of stature. I've learned to love my height. In bare feet I am 6ft, so naturally in most shoes, I get an extra 2 inches at the least. I like that I can see over top of people's heads in a busy crowd.

Never be too shy to call out 'excuse me' and hold up your hand.

I've seen people in supermarkets stuck behind someone and just stand, waiting to be noticed - a quick 'excuse me' and your on your way.

I guess it's a self confidence thing, try some assertion training / confidence building excercises so you feel more comfortable being noticed.

Im not saying you were but would just like to point out, the less pleasant the customer is the longer their service will take and they are often the ones who are 'forgotten'

Maybe just a bad or most likely or overloaded waitress. I wouldn't take it personally

MMmmm...know just what you mean, I was looking at something on this stall, and this woman not only reached across me, but literally walked between me and the counter to do so!!!

I asked her if she could not see me, as I was beginning to feel I had become invisible! I think it was down to sheer ignorance!
She had the grace to blush and say sorry. But I swear she thought she would get away with it! Grrrrr..!!!.

Yes, I do. Sorry that happened to you! I stand out basically because there aren't a lot of Asian people where I live.
