I believe that most Electrician locals have apprenticeship programs. Thats how my brother became a electrician.

ask at job center you could be lucky a firm might want to
take a trainy on they will pay for night school i am a
electrician i have a onc cert 16th regs cert took 3
years dose not take so long now try night school if not
