As a girl, I can understand why this question is being asked. To be quite honest, I'm suprised it doesnt show up on the board more often. I had painful (REALLY PAINFUL) periods for YEARS before I got so fed up. I went to the doctor and she said there are several things you can do to help reduce menstrual pain. I was put on birth control, which helped me out DRAMATICALLY, but I know thats not the case for everyone, so I'll fill you in on what she told me. First, exercise. While it may seem weird to do while on your period, it really does help. Drinking more water, walking, just movement in general. I took pamprin for a while which lasted about a quarter of the day. I hope things get better for you. I still have quite the list, and my e-mail is open if you'd like some tips.

1. DON'T take asprin, it's a blood thinner and might make you bleed more.
2. There's a new 12 hour pamprin made with naproxin sodium that works really well for me, or you could just take Aleve, which also has naproxen in it.
3. Some gentle exercize like walking, swimming, or jogging usually helps.
4. Sit-ups.
5. lay on your stomach with a pillow under where it hurts. The pressure seems to help me.
6. Icy-hot cream helps a lot too. Put it on right where it hurts.
7. Try a hot water bottle.
8. If none of these things work, go to the doctor and talk about getting put on Birth Control pills. I was taking them for a while and they helped a lot, but then I had to stop because of my high blood pressure.

If oyu have a nice Dr. they might give you a small Vicodin perscription, maybe 10 a month. If Ibruprofin drugs (Advil) doesn't work. Advil is beter than Tylenol.
Also a heating pad in better than nothing at all.
For some women, birth contol pills help. It might be worth a try.

Lots and lots of advil....good luck
There is also Midol. I like to buy Diurex it is a water pill to help bloating, but it also helps relive menstrual cramps.
