If Laura Bush is known as the "First Lady", then what will be the male version of the official title? Or is there already an unused version of this title?

Politics aside, this is a good question. Sooner or later, US will have a female president.

My vote is for "First Gentleman". Or can we abbreviate and say "First Gent"?

I also agree that for our former president Bill Clinton, we should continue to address him as "Mr. President".

If the president's wife is First Lady, then the husband of a woman president would be First Gentleman but I believe since he was our president,he would be referred to as former president Clinton. He is already referred to that way. Why should it change?

He will be still referred to as Mr. President because it is a superior title to First Gentleman.

customarily, in america, the most senior title afforded to the citizen is used, even if it is no longer applicable. we always address bill clinton as FORMER PRESIDENT because it confers respect and dignity for his service. this applies to all politicians and lawmakers.

First Gentleman, but I think he would make a great Secretary of State.

Dont worry. She wont be elected for president. No one with a half of a brain would vote for her, but then again, many people are voting on half a brain or less. Just look at the congress. They elected NANCY PELOSI
