I have my fiance's name on my left shoulder blade but its in Chinese script.

He has mine on his arm (in Chinese script).

It looks pretty and if we split up I can tell people its a good luck charm or my own name - they won't know unless they can read chinese!

No the only people that get their names on my body are the ones I give birth to and so far that's only been one and she has her name over my heart where she belongs. And as for a lover it would never happen because once its over I don't want to have to look at it everyday and wonder why the hell I was so stupid in the first place.

No - you can never be sure of what will happen in the future, there are too many 'what ifs' involved.
What if we broke up?
What if he cheated?
What if he got killed and I remarried?
What if he changed his name? (Unlikely but could happen!)
What if something was done to me by someone with the same name and it was no longer a name that brought me happiness?
What happens if I don't like the style of the writing in 10 years time?
What happens if I want to take a job as a nude model but can't if I have a tattoo?

No not a name, but if there was something that I could link to him via a picture, so it would be more of a representation Id consider it. Got a few ex's that would now appear as "snakes" or some kind of reptile!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I guess youd just have to hope that your lover would be the one to last. (could always add "devil horns, if it never worked out?...maybe?)

My lover, No!
My husband, Yes!

Ok, that sounded like I have one of each, which I don't. Back b4 I was married if anyone had asked me to tattoo their name in my flesh, I would have said no. I actually plan on getting my husbands nickname tattoo'd on the back of my neck!

:)

No as you may break up with them and even if you stay together in 30 years time it'll just be old and crinkly
