I have four grown children and it is my firm belief that we always love our children more than our parents. I believe this is encoded in our genes to assure that our species survives. Good parents (those that care for their children and provide for all their needs, physically and emotionally) would usually lay down their lives for their children. Survival of the fittest. Highest love of all. This does not diminish the love we have for our parents but it is a different love with a different purpose.

I agree with juicie813. You need to elaborate more. If you want to know why a man loves his children more than he loves his parents, it should be obvious. You love your children unconditionally.
I also think it is a matter of instinct for the preservation of the species. You want to protect your young.
Also, you know they always say the hardest thing in the world is to lose a child. Normally, due to age, you are resigned to the fact that your parents will pass away first.

Because his children are his own, and he is there to protect them, love them and teach them. His parents may have not done the same for him, they may have been neglectful or abusive, and so he doesnt want to do the same to his children.

A man should love his children more than his parents. He helped to create them. He nurtures them, educates them, cares for them, instills values and hopes and dreams in them. It's perfectly natural.
