Some charities do guilt people, but some charities are just plain and simply good charities. Jerry's Kids is a fantastic charity and the money goes directly to the children. There are a few scams and charities that have heavy administration costs, and therefore almost have the money you donate does not reach people in need. And they give charities a bad name. Plus, tax deductions.

"GREED" 3/4 of all the money given to charities never reach those in need, and that is why I will never give to charities. Charities have become big business today, and they know how to pull the heart strings of many people just to get their money, so just remember when you give to charities you are simply giving someone a well paying job that is all.

Not everybody causes their own problems. Look at Katrina. Do you think New Orleans caused this to happen to itself?
The charities are looking for people with compassion for others. Try it sometime. You might like it.

Sometimes the money is hard to get from people who are strapped for cash, muchk like myself. So a guilt play to try to squeeze money out can be effective. I like to donate to the Christian Church and a Jewish relief organization. (I am Roman Catholic) . This is done out of request of tithe from God, and to help the Jewish people around the world to return to Jeurusalum to help fullfull a prophetic need of God before Jesus can return for his people.

well in my opinion there are people who need a little help, i think that a lot of black people need to stop buying $100 shoes every month and send a little to africa, i mean we came from their, and they have nothing, some of the people work really hard and get no where, i was born into poverty and i cant help that, but i will do everything to change it.
if i was in the same situation i would want help too, some people want a way out of somehting terrible, i mean without financial aid i wouldnt be able to go to college, my mom gets SSI because she isnt able to work, i am glad there are people who want to help me go to college, so i can be something in life!!!!!

They have to "guilt people into" it, because most people are too selfish to think of anyone but themselves, even when human beings are suffering on a large scale through no fault of their own.
