If you have a disorder such as OCD, can you still become a clinical psychologist? Do they care?

In the program I went through they highly recommended (some programs even require) you go through your own counseling. I did and I'm glad I did. We also had to take part in group therapy with other students from my program. It really does help you understand your clients better. You have to at least have your head on straight to counsel others. That doesn't mean you can't be OCD if you are a therapist just a therapist in control of your OCD.

We are too much obsessed by words than the so-called OCD!

I never think OCD is a permanent loss of some mental ability.

Unlike physical faults, the mental challenges are volatile in nature. Normal people can again attain their normalcy by Hypnotherapy treatments!

Like anger and fear, OCD is absolutely controllable and curable in a week's time, if you get a real good psychologist!

Then, there is no question for any one who "seems to have OCD", to continue as a clinical psychologist!

My blessings!

Yes as long as it is treatable, and controllable. Let your conscience be your guide and any ethical reading you can do on the subject will only farther your career. Shoot for the moon at least your lay amongst the stars if you crash.

As long as it doesnt change your ability to do your job it shouldnt matter. I have OCD and its semi controllable.....but I'm not on medication for it.
