Kashmir has a long history of struggle. Whoever became the king of India tried to keep it and to do it they did whatever they could. When the British left they divided the then India in such a way that it created and/or is creating problems among India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. I am a Bangladeshi. We were ruled and oppressed by many rulers. But we struggled for our freedom. Because man is born to be free.
Try to look at the problem through the eyes of a Kashmiri, not an Indian or a Pakistani.
I think the matter should be left with the Kashmiri. THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO JOIN ANY OF THE COUNTRIES OR GIVEN FREEDOM - WHATEVER THEY LIKE.
Have you ever thought what you would do if you were a Kashmiri ?

I think the Muslims would like it to be a part of Pakistan. A different country would end up taken by Pakistan anyway. So maybe keeping it would be the best idea. Keeping in mind that in addition to the Muslims, there are also other people in Kashmir.

For sixty years no one has been able to give the right answer. Who drew up the boundary line between India and Pakistan??? Why not form a panel of Judges comprising the finest legal brains from all round the world. Let chosen legal professionals from India and Pakistan argue the case before this panel. Let the panel decide and the decision of the world panel should be final and binding.

Kashmir is India's, the Kashmiris chose to be a part of India. As for the question of letting it be an independent country, that's exactly what Pakistan wants, so that it can swallow it up in 1 day.

What if similar dispute errupts in another state, would you think of same question again.
