I watched the movie a second time JUST to see her sing 'And I Tell You'. She deserves to win!

She did some of the BEST acting in that entire movie. To me she embodied the character of Effie White and I believe that she should get the Oscar.

When I saw "Dreamgirls" there was a huge roar of applause as most in the audience cheered her when she sang "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" and when her name came up during the credits. I had never seen anything like it in my entire life. I would've applauded too but I would rather have HER hear me do it rather than movie goers (with GOOD taste)!

Miss Hudson, if you ever read this all I have to say is YOU GO GIRL!! {LOL! ^_^}

She should win. In the media it seemed the entire movie was about "DeenaBeyonce". When I finally veiwed it, Jennifer Hudson should have had top billing. She deserves to win, but you never know with this scenerio, the have a problem with "weight". I am so sick of sing(ers) acting. Stick to singing.
Go Jennifer Hudson! I hope she wins

YES! Her performance was so real and believable. Her voice is outstanding. There are some great actresses in the category with her, but I don't think it matters that this is her acting debut. Everybody's got to start somewhere. Jennifer just happened to start out at the top.

OMG - and take that, Simon Cowell.

She showed him and everyone else who voted her off.

I went to see Dreamgirls with a group of friends (it wasn't my first movie choice). When it was over, I was so glad I went. She was amazing - and Eddie Murphy knocked my socks off! Who knew he could sing. He should win, too - but bet he won't~

she did a great job for a first time actress and deserved her golden globe, but unfortunately she's up against some other well deserved actresses too, as they all did a good job...in my opinion i think she will not win the oscar (her singing was much better than her acting) -- my money's on rinko kikuchi

I think she was great but not Oscar worthy. She lacked crispness and control in her early scenes. Her performance ripened over the film. Facial expressions in the early scenes struck me as 'play acting'.

I agree. She was wonderful in Dreamgirls--the best actress there. And she can sing her *** off too!

Absolutely its nice to see a "real" woman lauded in Hollywood and not a black barbie doll like Beyonce. Besides she can sing.
