When I was totally single on V-day (which was basically the last 5 years besides this year) I would also go out with my best guy friend...we'd do dinner dutch, bowling, movie, whatever else. Always a good time with no expectations! This year, I'm on the verge of becoming engaged and I have to work all day and be in class until 8 that night...blah!

If just completely ignoring such a commercialized "holiday" is out of the question for you, treat yourself to a movie, day spa treatment, etc.

And be thankful you're NOT getting hideous heart shaped boxes full of candy that you'll eat and later feel guilty for eating. lol

I'll be spending the day with my 8 year old son. I do choose to ignore Valentine's Day.

Well, if you are single and have no plans; how about thinking of other singles as well?
Do you have parents, grandparents, loved ones, neighbors who are also alone? I'll bet that you know of someone who would appreciate a friendly call or visit. And think of how much better you will feel knowing that you brought happiness to someone else.
:-)
