My period has been irregular for the past few months.....This month around the time when I should have started I only spotted (around the 5th) now I am spotting again but not enough to wear anything just mainly when I wipe....The only symptoms that I have that could be related to pregnancy is my breast are tender, more tender on some days then other, I am tired all the time and I feel like I make more trips to the bathroom but I know that these all can be related to other things....Should I test or what???

Dont stress it, and wait till the dr's appt next week. Let them know you want a pregnancy test. Ask them to do both, urine, and blood also. That way if you are pregnant and not too far along, giving a false reading on the pee test. You will have the blood test that directly gets the HCG from the bloodstream.
Best of Luck to you!

If your period is irregular then you are probably not ovulating. If you do not ovulate you cannot get pregnant. If you started spotting about the time your period is to start it could be implantation bleeding or also a very light period. Normally you would ovulate around 14 days prior to your period(most women), which would be around the 22nd of December. If you had sex between the 18th-23rd, it is possible to be pregnant, if you ovulated. You can test now. Again, if your periods are irregular, you are probably not ovulating. I suggest buy a BBT, a thermometer with a more accurate reading, take your temp at the same time every morning and use the free site fertilityfriend.com to chart. After 1 month you will be able to see if you are ovulating, there's a tutorial on the site. Hope this helps.

Whenever you have any irregularities with your cycle, you should go to your GYN ASAP. Any of a number of things could be wrong. If you're pregnant and don't want to continue with the pregnancy, the sooner you know the better. Waiting gives you precious few options. I would take a test AND go to your doctor.

It wouldn't hurt to test now and mention that to your doctor when you go next week. I know if it were me.. I couldn't get a test fast enough, but I myself am in the waitng game to see if I am gonna start this month. My hubby and I are ttc for a 2nd time.. he wants a girl !!
