Firstly, how do you know that the courts didn't inform dvla that you had a driving ban ? Secondly, whether or not the dvla has it recorded on their database, you are still disqualified and if you were to drive and get caught you could incur a prison sentence. It's just not worth it. In any case you would not be able to get insurance because one of the questions on the insurance questionnaire would be 'have you any driving convictions' if you answered 'no' to this question, it would invalidate your insurance. Things would then go from bad to worse. Just wait another year and then drive legally.

Well... let's see.....

on one hand you do what the court has ordered you to do (not drive) and complete your sentence. Obviously you did something pretty bad to be restricted from driving for two years.

On the other hand... you could go ahead and take the chance. Here's the possiblities:

1. You get stopped for a minor infraction (speeding, broken tail light, etc.) and find to your dismay that when the cop does the record/warrant look up he discovers you aren't supposed to be driving. You go to jail, the car get's impounded, you have major fines, court fees and attorney cost.
2. You are involved in an accident (remember they happen all the time) and the same things will happen as shown in sceneario 1 but this time you will have property and medical cost to deal with as well. Plus.. the fines and jail time will mostly likely be higher.
3. You drive perfectly and have no accidents and never get stopped.

So there's your real choice... drive perfectly or go to jail.

I've been driving for over 30 years and over the last 5 logged over 250,000 miles. I've haven't had an accident in the last 10 years.. but have been stopped by the cops I guess about 8 times. So.. even if you drive perfectly... you still stand the chance of getting caught.

YOU have to decide if it's worth it. But I will tell you this.. if you were driving and your not supposed to.. and you have an accident that involves me or my family... I will make dang sure you go to jail and I will hound you as long as the law will allow me to.

Good luck!

WHAT WERE YOU BANNED FOR AND WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GET YOURSELF A DOUBLE BAN BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT YOU GET IF YOU DRIVE AND THE DVLA FIND OUT SO WHY NOT DO THE RIGHT THING TELL THE DVLA AND TAKE YOUR ONE MORE YEAR AS THE COURT DIRECTED// THINK HARD ABOUT IT

No do not drive,if you do and get caught again it will be a longer ban, and you will be driving with out insurance ,write to dvla to sort it out for you.

the court should have taken your license away from you before you left the court, the best thing to do is go and see the clerk of the court, and find out whats happened,if you are still banned and you drive and get caught again you may lose your license for longer, and could even go to prison

No you must not drive , if you have been banned by law

Additionally, should you apply for insurance and not declare it ,you will be committing an offense ,
your insurance will not cover you, till your record is cleared ,

Similarly, the declaration, on your car tax, will be void,
if you do not declare the endorsement

Sadly, you have another long year, before you may drive again

Sorry but that is how it is .

I wouldn't advise it. Should you get booked for another offence it'll come to light. Furthermore you have to declare your conviction to the insurance company and if you deny having any convictions and you then have an accident you'll also be done for driving without insurance and probably get a 3 year ban.

Maybe it is being processed still!! I wouldn't drive!! You were banned for a reason, so take your punishment!! And just think if you got acalled up by the police and they do a check and realise you are banned then you will face a longer ban and another fine!!
