He's probably just really excited that he is your friend again, and just can't wait to see you.... Just tell him how you feel and hope things work out....

he sounds pushy and scary. I wonder how well you know this "friend". Has it been like forever since you've seen him? maybe you need to make it clear if you haven't already, that you are not ready to meet up with him and to please stop asking. Tell him that when you are ready you will let HIM know and that you feel pressured by him. Tell him that right now you need some space and time and it is nothing personal but even though you like him as a friend, his constant pressuring is only making you feel even more stressed than you already feel. if he doesn't respond appropriately to this then you need to give him a consequence to his behavior. Treat him as you would a child that keeps misbehaving. Let him know that his choice of constantly pressuring you is going to cause you to have to make a decision as to whether you can continue talking to him at this time in your life. And if the pressure continues then you have to get even more firm and drastic depending on how far he wants to take it. Does he want harrassment charges filed? Don't be afraid to confront, I know it may be uncomfortable for you at first but if you keep practicing confrontation you'll gain confidence and you'll overcome.

he probably wants to just talk to you about an issue he is having to deal with in his life you should take a time out to help a friend or he just likes you

Maybe while you were separated, he realized that he likes or loves you
Maybe he is just trying to find a good time and place to tell you how he feels
Or maybe he just missed you like crazy
