They can get all kinds of nasty illness-type symptoms from teething. A runny nose can be among them.

My daughter never had a runny nose when she was teething and I have never heard of that being a sign of teething! However, it does sound like your little one does have allergies. The best way to tell is the clear snot, if it was a cold or something along that line, it would be yellowish or green. So, with it just becoming spring, and she is congested, sneezing, and runny nose, sounds just like allergies to me! There is not really anything you can give a 9 month old for allergies, or a cold. Just try saline drops and a suction bulb to keep her nasal passage clear. You can also elevate the head of her mattress so she doesn't get all stuffed up when she is sleeping. Another thing is to use vicks baby rub on her chest or back when she sleeps, this will also help open the passages. You can try a cool mist humidifier in her room at night, also.

It is definitely a possibility, along with a fever, etc. Doctors don't attribute these symptoms to teething, instead they say the baby probably has a virus along with the teething.

Some do. Some get foul nasty diarrhea that could knock you over from across the room. Some just get the bad moods. Each kid is different.

My doctor said no, but my son ALWAYS did as did my nieces and nephews, as did me and my mother....

Children who are teething are more likely to put their fingers in their mouths, so if they pick up a germs, it is more likely to become a virus.

yes they can... they might even spike a high temperature... it just depends on how their body is responding to the teething.
