Is it vomiting or just a big amount of spit up? Try burping more frequently - like after every ounce or two. Make sure the opening in the nipple isn't too big or too small. Too big, he'll choke from it rushing in too fast. Too small, he'll swallow a lot of air from having to suck so hard.

If it's vomiting - almost projectile, he might have reflux, which is fairly common and easily treatable. They'll either change his formula or give him a prescription for Zantac.

He'll probably outgrow the problem though. Good luck!!

There is nothing wrong with your baby. Breast feeding is always go for newborn. Maybe the formula you are using might have to much iron in it for your child that could make a baby vomit and a another thing is are you burping the child correctly. After about 3 or 4 ounces the child should be ready to burp. Until you see the doctor try adding a little more water then formula and see if that help your child from vomiting.

I would say that you are definitely right in taking your baby to the doctor. If the baby is actually throwing up then it could be an allergy. However if it is just a lot of spit up then that could just be your baby. My daughter is 5 months but has spit up something terrible since birth. No probs with weight gain or other symptoms so ped just suggested burping often during feeding. She is breastfed and since my other daughter had the exact same thing I am not too worried. Doctor should be able to help you decide if baby needs different formula. If this vomiting is new then maybe try to get in sooner with doctor.

Most babies aren't lactose intolerant, but it could happen. If there is an allergy it is most likely a milk protien allergy. He may have reflux. The dr will decide what to do. Until then just try to keep him upright when feeding and sleeping. Try to offer him a little less at a time and more frequent meals. give him a pacifier right after feeding if he still wants to suck.

Don't switch formulas until you see the dr. Too much switching will cause problems too and the dr might have one to try.

To all the others that say that you should be breastfeeding---sometimes it just doesn't work out. Formula is made for babies and it is every persons choice on how to feed their baby. You don't know why she is formula feeding.

It is probably the formula. There is usually a toll free number on the label. Call that number and explain what is happening to your baby. They may have some suggestions or alternatives to the formula you are using now. They say breast milk is the best but I have 2 kids and I used formula for both and they are just fine. So dont let the bullies tell you are doing anything wrong. Good Luck! I hope your lil boy feels better soon

I couldn't breastfeed because my milk didn't come in until 2 weeks after I gave birth so I had to use formula. My son is now on his 3rd formula because of spitting/throwing up so much. He wasn't gaining weight so I talked to my dr and put him on Enfamil AR. He has now gained 1lb 2oz in just a week. If your baby is having less wet diapers I would call your dr asap because he could be dehydrated from vomiting so much. He may have reflux. Good luck.

Your baby may just be sensitive to cow milk based formula. Try changing to a soy milk based formula. Try Similac's Isomil formula, it worked for my son within a few days!

This does happen with babies with really sensitive tummys. Try feeding him more often but not as much. It is rough but it helps then around 3 months get him on a better schedule. Maybe he has reflux?

how often do you burp him? At a month old he should be burped every two ounces. That could help reduce the vomitting. He could also be lactose intolerant.

Its possibly just the milk he is on, get him to the doctors asap, if he is sick after every feed he won't be gaining much weight and will also be very hungry, try and get him seen sooner, (today!).
