My period is usually right-on ... very regular, never had problems. Most recently, the past couple of months, my period has been delayed, and when it did start, it only lasted 3-4 days instead of the usual 7. I am now a week late this month. I am NOT pregnant. What else could cause me to have menstrual problems, when I've always been regular before? I should also add that I've had an ultrasound (last week) and there were no abnormalities (no cysts, etc.). Thank you!

Best to see an ob/gyn
But to ease your fears your body may just be adjusting to another schedule. Are you around a lot of other women you were not before? It is weird and noone knows why, but in a group of females their cycles will synchronize with the "alpha-female".
If that is not it how is your diet, are you losing too much weight this can cause problems, poor nutrition can cause problems also. You see why a doctor is needed.

It really could be a lot of things. Travel, minor illness (cold, flu), stress or changes in nutrition could all cause this. As long as you've been to the doc, you should be fine. I've always been very irregular (some people are) and just make sure I have a cute little pouch to carry tampons in, because you never know when you might need them.

Well, a big one is stress. If you are stressed out, that could delay or shorten your period. I recently had some similar issues and they turned out to be nothing... just normal changes.
Good luck with it.

I know lots of girls who's periods are off like that. Sometimes they have to be put on birth control pills in order to regulate their period. If you have any concerns, then you may want to see a doctor. Best of luck to you.

OK Duckie, I read your other questions, and you are on or considering Paxil, you have abdominal pain, what else? I would have your thyroid checked. Really, I dealt with individual symptoms for years until finally getting it figured out.

Are you under any kind of stress? Boyfriend/parents/school. Anything? When I have any kind of stress I am always late, or sometimes don't get it at all if i'm really stressed.
