Call the gas company - it's free or cheap and they do this so ppl don't blow the place up.

Adding a "drip leg" is always a good idea before running a gas line directly to your appliances. Natural gas lines often times have sediment in them and these can clog gas valves and burners. Simply put a tee on your stub out from the building, (on the center outlet please.) Then add a 3 or 4 inch nipple with a cap on the end going downwards. Due to low pressure on gas lines, any sediment will fall down towards cap and not cause problems in the future. Then connect flex hose on upward outlet of tee just as stretch described and check for leaks.

If not already installed, buy a gas shut off valve to thread to the pipe stub (nipple) coming out of the wall, which will be capped.
Use Teflon thread tape, or pipe dope. Get a flex gas line with the proper fittings on each end (or you might need adapters), and again, thread tape the male threads before threading (screwing) on the line. tighten with a wrench (not too tight, just snug) afterwards, mix some liquid dish soap and water, apply to all fittings and look for bubbling, which will indicate a leak. Try tightening more if leaking.
When removing the cap from the stub in the wall (or wherever it is), The gas is low pressure (about 7 psi or so). Remove cap, plug it with your finger/thumb, wrap male threads with the Teflon tape, remove finger and quickly thread Gas shutoff valve (valve lever in the OFF position!) on.

Where we live we must get a professional gas pipe fitter in to do this and they certify it then the gas company comes in to checks then they turn the gas on. That is our building code law here.

Its not difficult for an experienced person that understands how to work with gas lines. If I were in your place, a call to a plumber, HVAC company to gas grill dealer would be my first move.
