who was boudicca and what did she do?

I wouldn't sum it up like that. The Romans gave her and her tribe great insult. More so it was an uneasy peace with the Romans that her hubby struck. When they raped her daughters I think it was that was it, that was war and if Boudicca hadn't led it somebody else would have. They had an easy time finding help with the tribes that never submitted to the Romans. The Celts though faced two huge problems. They were excellent fighters one on one but Roman tactics were pretty much specifically designed to fight Celts and if the Romans were given the chance to form up in ranks the battle tended to be very one sided with droves of Celt dead. The other problem was they couldn't stop fighting each other long enough to unite and go after any common enemy. Even in Boudicca's rebellion many tribes refused to participate, even some of the ones actually actively at war with Rome already.

Boudicca's two daughters were raped by the Romans so for revenge she drove them all the way back through France and (briefly, but for the first time) paved the way for the Visigoths to sack Rome. She didn't just hang in the back and let her warriors fight either, she went into battle and scared those no-pants Romans shirtless.
