If you are asking this question in the physics section then I hope you are not expecting a metaphysical reply. There's nothing like soul which has been scientifically proven. So it's wrong to assume that its a form of energy and thus the question of its conservation does not arise.

There is an error in your question. The soul is not a form of energy in the sense of the word as it is used in physics. Energy is the potential to do work. The soul may be called "energy" under some other definition, but not the physics definition. Unfortunately this means you can not apply the law of conservation of energy, which is meant for the physics meaning of energy.
However, your question about what form does the soul take when we die is a very interesting one. I do not know the answer, but I can tell you that physics is not the place to go to find the answer.

For sure our bodies are made up of energy. After death, where does all that energy go? Energy has to go somewhere cause it sure doesn't just vanish! I believe it's that energy that composes our soul. Others here may believe it just gets scattered all over the place. It's a matter of what the individual's belief is. Some think it goes to God, some think we keep our bodies but in spirit form, some think it somehow joins a collective pool of "soul energy", some think the "underdeveloped soul" comes back to earth to learn more things and grow in wisdom and experience, some make no conclusions. Some need proof for everything because their brain can't comprehend anything besides what they can see with their eyes and prove with their eyes, even though they know very well that they are only using 7% of their brains or less. Pretty limited in my opinion. Hope this helps.
Oh, and there has been some research done with "weighin the soul", it may be what the guy above was talking about. Check it out.
As far as all this science talk, if you want to prove something, how about proving that you're really scientists. Who says you are?
Most physicists don't believe in imaginary numbers, they assume that the speed of light is the maximum velocity at which matter can travel. I believe there actually exists negative space and time and that it has to do with magnetism and magnoelectric radiation (Dr. Tiller's theory). That would also explain negative entropy which is displayed in all living systems.
Just look back in time and see how often "scientists" were wrong. Do you really think it's any different today. Then again, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

From a scientific view, there is no evidence of a soul, so saying it's energy is an unsupported assertion.
Science views energy as the "capacity to do work". Now if you can show the soul actually has the capacity to do work, then perhaps you have something someone will consider. Otherwise, it's not science, but religion or metaphysics.

False premise. Please demonstrate that souls exist. Next, demonstrate that souls are energy.
If a soul is energy, then like all energy, it will eventually be converted into unusable thermal energy.
A more realistic example: Electricity is a form of energy. What happens to it when the batteries die? Eventually, all that energy is converted to unrecoverable thermal energy i.e. entropy.

If we were to look at the soul as a form of energy, then this energy is inside the body while we live. When we die, this energy goes to another place (quite possibly another "plane of existence") that is undetectable by any instruments that we have. As a Christian, I am inclined to call this place the afterlife; which would be Heaven or Hell.
If you want to look at it another way, consider the time perspective. The soul is the timeless part of the body, which is inside the body as we live. When we die, the soul makes its transition from a time-bound physical body, to a timeless, eternal existence.
This question certainly is very philosophical, and one could write a book about this specific question, if it hasn't been written already.

What makes up our soul is our memories, and they way we interact with others, etc, which is controlled by the brain through electric impulses, which I guess could be the same energy, iguess it just disappears when you die. I don't know I am just throwing an idea out there.

If this question is religiously inspired then you surely aren't any further going to be able to hearken to or settle for a only medical answer. Its authentic power cant be created or destroyed yet formulated like this it flies contained in the face of the second one regulation of thermodynamics, which truly says disease will improve in closed structures. power would no longer vanish notwithstanding it is going to degrade to the point the position it would want to't be used for some thing. enable me placed it this way. I assume you're alive, being alive your body provides off radiant head. a number of this infrared radiation flies off up in to the sky and can want to conceivably bypass out in to area on the speed of sunshine - do you assume that this power is by some ability nonetheless yours? that that is basic to employ it? No... for sure you won't be able to. once you die you'd be generating no new power and your flesh will rot. various the 'power' left on your body will be fed on by technique of insects and micro organism. technology is a fashion of gaining knowledge of how the Universe works, no longer how we want it to artwork. in case you want to benefit those issues ask what takes position on your 'soul' contained in the religion room. because you've in user-friendly words one existence, cope with it as effective and enable different human beings do an same. This is not a question for physics. It is to be asked in the "paranormal" section. There is a film that talks about the soul weight: "21 grams" (Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, ...).
