About one third or so of the world's boreal forests are found in Canada. I'm not sure about other types of forests but the majority of Canadian forests are boreal as is so it doesn't really matter. I doubt any other forest type would fall under such a large percentage (worldwide) to make an impact on statistics, at least one that would be noticable to people, especially those who don't necesserily make-up their livleyhood studying forests and ecology. Not that there is anything wrong with that, quite on the contrary.
