What does the title, A Walk to Remember, mean?

I haven't read the book of this but I've seen the movie countless times and it's one of my favourites. But I don't understand, what does the title of the movie mean? Does the "walk" refer to Shane's walk through life, Jamie's wak through life, or their walk down the aisle?

it means THEIR journey that they had...remember she was dying, he loved her and wanted to give her that memory of a beautiful life with someone she loved, it was also his memory too...he made a big change in his life for her and he kept that change even after she died...it truley is a beatiful story, very sad, one of the only ones ive cried in...

Because when they meet, they start walking together and that's how they get to know each other. Then, I like your idea of it being their 'walks' through life as well. This actually turned out to be a good question. Now, you've got me thinking. :-)

I think it refers to all of it. The night of their first date, they were walking by the pier, and that's when they realized they were in love, so it could also refer to that walk in a literal sense. And at the end , he goes back to that place and thinks about her and that night, remembering everything. It's so sweet!
