I'd stick with the PC. You get more for your money.
My girlfriend got a mac because they were "user friendly" but she has more trouble doing things on than she did with a PC.

I would go with a Mac. Macs are easier to use and, according to Consumer Reports articles, Macs have the best quality ratings and the best customer support. Then, in a ZDNet article written by a PC using writer, he found out that in upgrading a PC to the same as a Mac, the PC would really cost more. Everyone also brings up the fact that less software is available for the Mac. While true, do you really need, for example, to have to choose between 30 PC desktop publishing programs instead of 20 for the Mac? All the biggest selling software. like Word or Photoshop, are both PC and Mac compatible so you shouldn't have trouble finding the software you need for the Mac. And, in my opinion, the software is more stable and easier to use on a Mac.

It depends on what you are going to use the computer for....
if you are going to do graphics, photo editing, music recording, etc. I would go with a MAC.

If you are just surfing the internet, e-mail, word processing, and gaming, etc. I would go with a PC.

Also, PC software is more cheaper and sometime easier to find that MAC software. Example PC Quicken basic is about $29, MAC Quicken is about $39.

Macs are more faster and efficient than PCs. I warmly recommend you Mac. Still, if you buy a PC, don't use Windows with it. User either Power Mac, Linux or FreeBSD.
