Absolutely.
In my last romantic relationship, familiarity caused me to see what I had gotten used to, what I had come to expect, rather than what was changing right in front of me, and I didn't notice until it was already too far gone.

Well.. it has been said familiarity breeds contempt, so no you could begin to not forgive (to see) so many little annoyances after a while.. or if you truly believe you love someone and are fearful of losing them, you tend to overlook every little wrong to make everything appear it is right.. so in that case yes you (are blind) So yes sometimes love is blind.. So familiarity can blind you.. yes..

This happens all the time with most of us. For example, a couple of months ago my wife and I bought a very nice painting for our living room, which we like a lot--but most of the time I don't seem to notice it's even there, in a room I'm in and out of dozens of times each day.

yes, because if your reminded of something then you become like happy, or sad even it can just make you think of old things. here's an example: if you see someone that looks like an old crush or someone that broke your heart than you would most likely try to stay away from that person, so familiarity basically clouds your judgements.

it most certainly can. i know that every autumn, as i make my trek to my classes and follow essentially the same path, i barelly even notice the change of the seasons. only once i catch myself in some daydream and jar myself awake do i finally notice that the leaves have changed color, and that its time to stop wearing shorts. if routine can cause me to miss such a massive change, i shudder to think about all the little things that pass me by. and as we well know its the little things that make us.

It sure can, and with everything. That happened to me today with my job actually, and because of it, there are some things in my life that I will need to make major adjustments to for the time being.
