I am now coming up to 64 years of age and for years l have been trying to trace my father who was stationed in England during the last war. I have been coming up with 'brick walls' for years.
I was born Vernon Wain Taylor in Newbury Emergency Hospital on 28th. January 1943.

Contact your local office of the Red Cross. They have been tracking down soldiers since World War I. You also might try to track down his regiment on the Internet using the search buttons of Yahoo or Google. I know there are listings for RAF squadrons of WWII. Surely they have infantry regiments too. Once you have found his regiment, it should be easy to contact the CO and find out what you need to know.

Your local library or bookstore should have a book entitled "How to Find Anybody" if you choose to do the search yourself. Or you can hire people like the ones who wrote the book to do the search for you.
I wish you the best and success in finding your father.
