Why have I seen the word "martyr" for the answer? Do the ones that answered with this even know what the word means.....Not by perfect definition, but a martyr is someone who has died for their cause ! its not that they like to suffer they fear what would happen when they leave. like will they be found and murdered. find a shelter in your area and see about what kind of help they can offer.
