It's great to visit there, but after a few days there really isn't a whole lot to do (like there is in a big metropolitan city like NYC). I go there several times a year. There are few good jobs, and most young people who live in Miami end up in the service industry, i.e. waiting tables or working at Starbucks.

i would add to the cons ... lots of bad traffic and congestions just about everywhere you go specially on 826, 836, Don Shula xpsswy, I-95, pretty much that covers all Miami...
Salaries are not to high compared to cost of living and real estate is pretty high still in spite of low market demand...rents ...way over the roof! I pay 925.00 for a 1/1 , pls water ,pls garbage and that was the cheapest I found ...
Good luck

Pros.
1. Great year round weather ( assuming you like warmth and can handle humidity during the summer)
2. Great beaches.
3. Incredible night life ( again assuming you like that sort of thing)
Cons.
1. Alot of crowds and tourists year round.
2. A high, although improving crime rate.
3. Growing cost of of living in most areas.
