I find that his two books which I read were way too short. They are beautiful books but I finished reading them in just a day. Do you think they should be longer, or do you like that they are short, sweet and right to the point?

I have read 3 of his books now, and I actually love the fact that they are short. His books seem to have some important life lessons that I feel are best read quickly--when you need a pick-me-up or to be reminded that life is too short to not be happy. I do, however, wish he had MORE books!

I have read: Tuesdays with Morrie

The 5 People You Meet in Heaven

I think I liked the last one the best...

No, if they were any longer that would have taken away from the books. The fact that they are short and to the point and fast reads was probably what he wanted. When I read Five People You Meet in Heaven, I thought it was going to be crappy because of how thin the book was, but it actually made it more memorable. It still managed to make me think, put a smile on my face, and also made me cry without being over 300 pages long. I think by writing the books so short only shows how good of a writer Albom really is, that he didn't need to go into extensive detail to convey something, and everyone I know who's read the books has greatly enjoyed them. I know what you mean when you ask if they should be longer, I hate to come to the end of a good book but if it was longer, there's that chance I might have enjoyed it less or it would have gone into the pile of books I hardly remembering reading.

I think their fine and the right length -- not that length should have anything to do with literature.

I also think he's a great columnists -- and also becoming a formula writer along the lines of Nicholas Sparks.

For his next book I'd like to see him step up and do something significant -- maybe the value of sports in inner city Detroit (he writes for The Detroit Free Press) or possibly a novel touching on the high sacrifice Michigan has paid in troops lost in Iraq.

Just a thought

When Albom wrote his novels, I think he intended for them to be a shorter read. He's not my favorite, but it is refreshing to read something that isn't so long and drawn out. Better to be too short, than too long...

I've only seen the TV movie. I haven't read the books, but if they're as good as the movie, I should start. I have a hard time choosing good books. I'm reading one now "Veronica" and I'm glad I'm almost done. I never say that if it's a good one.

I found them a bit uninteresting, and would have not read it intirerly if they would have been longer.
no offense to mr. albom, but he could indulge in some better writting styles.

No, I wish he had never written any. I find them poorly written, soppy, improbable. Can anyone say crocodile tears?
