I know the proverb in another language, but I need it in English. The proverb refers to the fact that you can be considered smart as long as you're silent.

Anyone knows?

Hello, i happen to know another proverb called "Empty vessels make the most noise". It implies that those who are loud are often empty-headed. This is the opposite of what you're looking for, but hope it may be useful

From the bible:
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue. (proverbs) [17:28]

A silent man's words are not brought into court. (Danish)

There are 2 fools in every market: one asks too little, one asks too much. (Russian proverb)

Latin:
Audi, vide, tace, si tu vis vivere (in pace).
Translation: "Hear, see, be silent, if you wish to live (in peace)." Roman proverb

The wise make proverbs, and fools repeat them.
- Isaac Disraeli
