I'm doing a geography project and need to find out how people feel about the earthquake; people that have been affacted by it in one way or another, either emotionally or people who have had homes damaged or affected in another way. Please help!

I was living in Seattle then, and my 7-year-old daughter's school had a young Japanese teacher to teach the kids about Japanese culture. We were friends with her, so I asked her about it. Her parents were in Osaka and she could not reach them at first, but she said, "I am sure they are fine." I grew up in Los Angeles and was familiar with earthquakes, so I understood her. Everybody is affected, but few people are seriously hurt. She asked me about how Los Angeles was recovering from the 1994 earthquake. I told her that not all the damage had been repaired, but life was basically back to normal.
