Hard to say really. The USA seems to be more progressive, which can be both good and bad. The UK seems to have held onto traditions better (another thing that can be good or bad), and it has impeded progress of their nation.
However, the USA - since inception - hasn't gone and turned lands far away into colonies as England did. Keep in mind, I'm fully aware that Scotland and Ireland are part of the UK. Scotland is a wonderful place, full of rich history, architecture, but the people there are impossible to understand (the accent).
England occupied some of the Middle East quite recently and it has only been the past 100 years or so that they have been allowed to develop their own culture publicly. Due to being oppressed as they have been, it is no wonder they are upset with Western countries (this includes the UK, like it or not, it is FACT).
Reflecting on these things, I'd have to say the USA is the best - FIRST TO DEVELOP NUKES!

i am American and my boyfriend is British and we are having a baby. I think it should be born and raised here. He thinks we should go to the UK. and raise the baby there. I am going to say what i said to him the USA is better because it is and because you can do or say whatever you want about people here. not then i am racist i am not he is white and i am black. but it is nice to know that you can do and say whatever you want.

there is god thing and bad things about all countries, i mean trying to decide what is better is what starts racism and all that, i think that a country that has socialism is better, it is between democracy and communism, when you combine ideas it seems to work out better
