Look around, they don't teach little girls how to be smart and not depend on a man. Society is teaching our girls that the prettier they are, the happier they will be. If they get their lips and boobs done, they will be "perfect". I have never bought "Barbie" dolls for my daughter because of how unrealistic she is. I want my daughter to do whatever she wants to do in life and know that she will get it with hard work and education. I never want her to be jealous of those idiots they have displayed all over the magazines. She has more confidence and common sense than those "fake girls". Thank you.

First, it is the adults job to teach the child from the very beginning stressing that Barbie is only fantasy and not reality. You do not have to be unrealistically thin and beautiful to be important to those who honestly love and care about you. Barbie can be used to teach that no female has the perfect body. Point out that her head goes all the way around. If we tried that, we would be dead. Show her that she has no way to go to the bathroom. If we were like that , we would very sick, need surgery, or die. Teach that all toys are only fantasy and are there to make us happy. All toys are not as good as the real thing. By giving this from the start with constant encouragement; your consistent example; and love, the child will have a good foundation to develop her image upon. As you enjoy playing with her, you can lovingly make a big impact in her image of importance and value.

Barbie is and has always been bad for little girls. We have so many other problems in the world, we should not be teaching little girls about frivolous things and instead teaching them about the real world.

barbie is lame when i think about it, they said that if she was life size, she would be like over 6 feet and reall skinny wit big boobs, that is obviously unrealistic girls dont have to be tall, blonde, and skinny to be attractive, also i hate how they are making barbies with the babies and stuff, bad idea we have way too many teen pregnancies!!!!

The retail world is focused on profit. Never mind the good, wholesome qualities we need.
