Should i buy my boss something expensive??

My boss is REALLY nice. she dont get mad when im late and she still pays me for that time. She's a very understanding person so i was gonna buy her something around 75 - 100 dollars for her birthday. do you think that is to expenive??

it's really hard to say... it depends on both the type of person she is and the type of enterprise you work for. If it's a small family-type business and she's a relaxed gal, it's fine. If it's a huge corporation and she's stressed out about laws and being fair with other employees, it might not be appropriate and she can be embarrased by it.

You don't say what kind of work you do, or the business your involved with.
What kind of money you make or your boss, this matters.
If you are make really good money while your boss is pulling in several hundred thousand a year, then you probably can not afford to buy something expensive.
It is a good idea to buy her something for her birthday, but keep it simple, like flowers and a well thought out card. In the card you can write your many thanks for all she has done for you, and how much you appreciate it.

It is not appropriate, considering your relationship. Miss Manners in the etiquette book will probably agree that expensive gifts are a no no

I'd stick with $50 limit. That's good she's really understanding, but i think more than $50 is too much.

I ACTUALLY THINK YOUR GOING WAY TOO LOW I SAY ABOUT $600 SHOULD DO IT. THINK ABOUT ALL THE MONEY YOU WOULD HAVE LOST IF SHE FIRED YOU.
