Besides using over the counter meds that you find in the "ladies section"....which really do work for most or at least help. Try a heating pad or taking a warm bath.
Avoid Asprin! It's a blood thinner and you will bleed more. Tylenol is great though.

When you experience pain, blood naturally rushes to that area (which explains why girls faint when they have cramps cos no blood to the brain) - and by applying heat onto the affect area, the blood vessels dilate (enlarge) due to the heat and causes more blood to rush there.
This will not exactly improve the situation as u are only inducing more sense of pain with the blood rush. It can also cause you to faint if it gets bad.
Its the same logic as why you ice your foot when you bruise/sprain it. You want to constrict the vessels so you feel less pain. However since this is cramps, you should just take the step to walk out and do some light exercises. This will take the pain away - seriously.
Of course unless you cant even stand then you might wanna think about taking primrose oils on a regular basis to ease the pain. avoid cold food too.

i think aleve is the best when you have bad cramps because it works really fast. Also, if you go to walgreens or cvs, you can purchase the thermacare heat wraps. They have one especially for menstral cramps! Good Luck!

I know this is going to sound strange coming from a guy, but try taking Aleve and putting a heating pad on your lower belly.
