Why can't you quit? If it is a money issue, then look for a job while you are still working. There are plenty of ways of doing that, thanks to the WWW. Money is never the answer to happiness. I stayed at a job for nearly 19 years because the money was so good but I hated every moment of it and I was miserable. What good was that. Well, I quit ten years ago and I now have a career I love. Even though at first I was making a heck of a lot less, my happiness and over all health improved. I couldn't be happier with my decision.
Do it....it will make you so happy with yourself.
Good Luck.

You can ALWAYS quit! This might be one of those rare moments in your life where you have to make a big descision and are scared out of your mind to do so. You must go with what your gut tells you, and everything will fall into place. It's just changing and "leaping" into the unknown that is preventing you from leaving. And don't worry about money. It will come to you when you start doing something you like and feel good about.

Good luck!

Hang in there till you can find a good job. It's ok to discreetly look for another job while you are working for someone else. Then when you find something (don't make a hasty job change just to get away from your current situation), be professional and provide the courtesy of giving two weeks notice.

There must be some good stuff about a job (a colleague, an office, a plant etc). Maybe hard to see at first but still there. Look for those things to keep you going. Meanwhile, look for another job more suitable for you. Never quit your job before finding another one. Good luck!

hm..what`s the strange reason that you "can`t quit"? are you attached to the wonderful "co-workers" and the job career-development advantages? doubt that!
let`s suppose you can`t quit. then, i guess the only way to solve things out is:
-respect religiously the working schedule (8 hours tops! lunch break).
-think about your future and try to participate to any training courses that might be held; they are boring..but they might worth something for a new job proving that you are "a dinamic and proactive candidate";
-fall in love with a girl from work; that might keep you busy during the working hours.....hihi;
-after work, try to go out more often with your friends and..have fun! the thought that you will be hanging out in a club with some funny pals...in the evening..that might determine you to survive another shitty day at work...
well, enough tips! hope this helps. good luck! ;))

I had that same problem ! I used the Internet to help me find another job and I kept the job I hated till I found another job...No sense in staying where you are feeling awful about yourself.

Think about something you would really like to do and get a part time job doing that. You will enjoy this and it can turn into your dream work.

Go back to school and increase your education and in the meantime keep your eyes open for other opportunities and seize them. Don't waste your time waiting and complaining. Increase your value in the job market.

Just do the best that you can with what you have until you can't do any more.
That way, you will be able to sleep with a clear conscience.
Keep looking for a better position, on the sly.
