As far as immigration goes... it constantly affects us...
THIS CAN GO POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE... (Although in many ways it hepls me personally because I make lots more money knowing Spanish and English)

Health.. .think about all of the government programs that aid immigrants, legal or otherwise, (but never rule out all lazy Americans on government aid also)
Education - how much money is spent on ESL programs for speakers of other languages? and the free/reduced school lunch program for low income families... All students in high school pretty much have to learn a second language (and most colleges require it now)
Wal-Mart now carries many items (aisles of Hispanic label food) bilingual or Spanish only products (labels have been in more than one language for years, but we've upped it a couple steps)
Economy is helped by the new influx of people, but a large majority of their wages returns to their families in foreign countries in many cases...
Taxes... I know a guy who got 4000 back from govt by using false identification and claiming kids he didn't have... although we also have some who work for years and never get a tax return even though they put in every year...

Umm, Immagration has never affected us, because it doens't exist. Now if you want immigration there are volumes of this information out there. Many americans welcome immigrants to our lands and many don't. Think of it this way. Almost all of us come form immigrants. There is only a small population of Indians who are truly still from the roots of the American soil. My trick is since my Uncle is one of those persons, as an Indian. They have a very different outlook on this than what we do. "We" meaning the rest of the hodge-podge of civilization that we call Americans.

Just go to a fast food place and the social security office and the DMV and you can see for yourself.
