This ridiculous re-building of our enemy's war damage was only started after World War II in order to give pseudo-humanitarian contracts to corporations like Halliburton. So you are begging the question by accepting this non-obligation in the first place.

Yes, War breaks things and the US is the first country that has cared to help our once enemies. Look at the end of WW2 and you will see how well it works.

Why rebuild it? We can just tell them to take care of it themselves...kind of like we are doing in Iraq. We went in, removed their leader, a democratic government was placed, all hell broke loose, and we are now telling them to get their act together.

Depends on what you're claiming we destroyed. If you're talking about the issues in the Middle East, we shouldn't even be over there, anymore, in my opinion.
