Yes, there are husbands that are spanked by their wives as part of behavior modification that isn't sexual play. This is referred to as "domestic discipline" and is practiced in a decent percentage of homes. Domestic discipline is when one adult member of a household consents to another to hold them accountable for wrongdoing. This is fairly common among D/s (Dominance/submission) and spankophile relationships, but others practice it as well.

There are no gender biases, though, and I know domestic discipline relationships that either the husband or wife is spanked by the other, and some where both wife and husband are spanked by each other (or, sometimes, spanked by a third party that holds them BOTH accountable). One thing that I've noticed among those that I've spanked for discipline is that they tend to know what they want to change about their habits, but just don't have quite enough willpower to do it on their own. So, they ask someone that they feel can care about them to hold them accountable. I've been in five or so disciplinary relationships with adult females (two of them could be labeled as "domestic discipline), and this was typically their reasons for coming to me.

I agree it can help a marriage if both people are happy with it. However, I don't agree with you about it being non-sexual, it is very sexual indeed as far as I am concerned. And for my husband too. But it has had benefits for us beyond sex, and helped us get along together a lot better. Unlike you, I am not willing to take all the blame for everything that was wrong with your marriage in pre-DD days, but it has helped both of us to moderate bad behaviour. However, the article you quote from is too dogmatic. Insisting on crying for instance, not all women cry when spanked (I almost never cry, no matter how painful it is). Nor do I feel it absolutely necessary to be devoured by guilt. I am more often than not spanked for things that I don't consider I need to feel terribly guilty about.

If she is upset with me, I know I'm going to get it. I either am told to grab the pillows off the bed and head to the bathroom.
