Tivo is the best thing that's come along for TV viewing since Color TV. It is a digital recorder like a VCR except it is very easy to setup and it doesn't need a tape to be loaded. Everything is recorded onto an internal computer disk drive. You never have to do anything but record and watch. If you like an particular actor just type in there name and every program or movie that they appear in will record for you automatically the next time it is on TV. If you like a show you can type in the name of the show and it will record it every week until you tell it to stop. Watch the show when "you" have time to and skip through commercials.
Pause, rewind, fast forward live TV plus much more. Get one soon they are great. The other "DVR" units offered by other cable and satellite companies do not have all of the abilities of the original. They just don't match up....
Tivo is still offering a full rebate of $220.00 so the box is free. There is a monthly charge for the service though.

Tivo is a digital box (much like a cable or satellite box) that allows you to record, pause, fast forward, and rewind tv. Much like a computer the Tivo box has a hard drive that automatically records programs as you're watching them so that you can rewind if you missed something or pause it if you have to potty lol. It's a subscription based service so expect to pay a little more to have Tivo. Most cable companies and satellite companies are now offering DVR (digital video recording) boxes that have the same functions as Tivo. Tivo was the pioneer of this industry hence the name recognition.

Tivo is a digiital recording device just like a dvr it only records to the systems harddrive though it does not have a disc drive It will record tv programs and the like I have one I love it

TiVo is exactly the same as TV but u can actually stop, rew. fast foward, and pause the TV. it's kind of like a movie, that has every channel on it. hope that helped
